Kiwican/ Positive Communication

L.I - Positive Relatioship

Today at Kiwican we learned about positive communication. First we did an energizer, for the energizer we played a game, and for this game the teachers spilited us up into two groups and one group was in Miss Grace and the other was in Mr. Seamanu. First Mr. Seamanu or Miss Grace call out 2 people and the two people have to try and flip the cones, Mr. Seamanu group have to flip the cones right way, and Miss grace group had to flip the cones upside down.

After the energizer we talked a little bit about Positive Communication. After that we played a game called street fighter. For this acitvity the teacher will call out a number and we have to do the action for example the teacher calls out 1 and we have to punch 1 time and say "ha", and the last person to do the action is out.

Rippa Rugby/ KiwiSport

L.I - To Learn basics things about Rippa Rugby.

Yesterday LS1 and Room 5 went to the park to play rippa rudgby with the Marist team, and St Patricks school.

First the coach splited up the year 4, year 5 and year 6. Our coach was Andrew and Justice and they were both from Marist. After the team split up, each team went and did their own activty, our team 
( the year 6 ) started off with a warm-up. For this warm-up the coach called out North or South or West or East. If they call out North we have to run to North and we have to be there by the count down to 5, and if we are not there by the count down by 5 then we are out.

After that Warm up we Practised catching and throwing. For this activty we had to get into lines and the first person in the line had to go and stand behind the red or green cones. Then we had to run up and throw the ball to the person next to us.

After that activity we went and put our tags on. Then we played this game called rabbits and rats, the red team was rats and the green team was rabbits. When the coach call out rabbit then the green team has to run as fast as they can to the green cones, and the red team has to try and rip the tag of the green team.

For our last activty we played rippa rugby. For this activty we had to work as a team and past the ball to try and get it to the goal. After the game the green team win! Here is a video of our rippa rugby.

Basic Facts


Today I played a game called basic facts. For this game we had to play the addition side a we also had to time ourselves while we are doing the addition side. I got 5minutes 9seconds. My goal is to beat my highest score. Here is my addition slide.

Commeting

This week I commented on Fala's work. I comment about her selfpotriat, because I thought it was a creative selfpotrait and I also thought that is was really creative when she used shapes instead of curve lines. Here is my comment I posted on her blog.

SSR Selfie - Fiction

Today we did and activty called SSR selfie. For this activty we had to pick a book of our choice, I picked Ella's diary because I love storys about diaries. After I picked a book I took a photo of me holding it. After that I had to answer questions, using the book.

Where in the World?

L.I - To build geographic knowledge.

For the frist slide we had to research about Ohakune. Then we had to answer questions like what is the closest body of water to Ohakune. Then we moved on to the second slide it, for the second slide we had to research what is the closest country to New Zealand. Then we had to add how far is it from New Zealand. We also had to add what the local currnecy, and how much would I get if I had $100ND. After that I choose a distance, and minus 1000 using cm,mm,m. Here is my where in the world? template.

Idioms - Bug Eyed


L.I - To make a video using Idioms.

Today Wairaka, Fala and I did a video using idioms. Idioms means phrases that doesn't actually mean what they mean. For examples - Bug eye means with bulging eyes, as from astonish or amazement. It took long time to take the video because we kept on smiling, but we finally did it. Here is a video of our idioms.

Equation Solver / 3D Shapes

Kwican - Giving Things a Go.

L.I  - Giving things a go

This week for Kiwican we learnt about giving things a go for example, someone tells you to take out the rubbish even though it is dark, and you never took it out before so you were scared but you gave it a try. For the energizer we played grab the cone, for this activty we got into group of two then the teacher will say a key word for example, the key word is cone then the teacher tell a story and if they say a secret word we have to quickly get the cone, but if we don't get the cone then we go and sit down.


For the last activity we had to go a find another patner, both of the partner face back to back from eachother then the teacher tells us what to act, and who ever acts it well is the best actor. Then we played GKQ and it was between boys and girls, sadly boys won but it was a fun day.

Machines / Puzzle

For this week activty, we did an activity about numbers and sequencing.
We figure out a puzzle and we tryed to put all the puzzle in the right place. We also did our own 100 board puzzle and we used machine. Here is the link to the drawing.

Print Design Rules - The Good and, the Bad and the Ugly

For this week activty we look at poster and which one is bad and good, we also write why is is bad and why it is good. We also write the composition, layout, colour and text.

Use this document to record your notes as you go around the different posters to identify the four
areas of print design.

We learned about positive relationships.

We played switch places for the energizer.

We talked about fairness and fairplay.

Lastly we played pizza tag to encourage fairness and fairplay.

I was happy that everyone was in the game, but some people weren't playing fairly.

What My Name Worth


This week I did an activty called what my name worth. My name is worth - R = 9= O=4 = S=9=A=1=L=7=I=3=L=7=I=4, so 9+1+3+7+7+7+3+7+3 = 40, but 4+0= 4. My name is worth 4.

Activity 3: Belle of the Ball


Today I did another activity. For this activty we have to find our favourtie book and I picked SomeDay Angelina, because I though it will be easy to draw. The book is about a girl called Angelina that grew up learning how to read even when she wasn't old enough to read. She also knew how to play the piano with out any lesson. BUT mean kids at school call her the genius freak. It wasn't till she makes friends with a boy that tell jokes and her teacher LOVES tropical fish, Angelina's life start to get better and easier.

Treaty of Waitangi

Today we did an activty about the treaty of waitangi. The first slide was about who was involved, where did it happen, why did it happen, when did it happen. Then we went to the next slide which was about summarising. For summarising we picked 20 important words and 6 most important words, then we wrote sentences using the 6 most important words. Lastly we did a slide about evaluating.

Maritime Museum

L.I. To study the history of NZ Maritime Museum

We went to the Maritime Museum toi find out about maritime explorers.

I saw lot of boat like kayak and waka. 

I found out that Sir Peter Blake was the bet New Zealand sailor. 

I also watched a video about the first explorers coming to Aoteroa.

I enjoyed exploring things I never knew about.

Crazy Cricket Chaos

L.I. - To Develop Fundmental movement in cricket

We did our first session of cricket with Brian from HPCC.

I did a sesson on throwing a ball at a set of stumps.

We also did an activty where we had to hit 2 balls off cones as far as we could.

Lastly we did a catching drill with 2 balls in a big circle.

I was so tired at the end from all the running. I need to work on aiming when I am throwing.

My name is Rosalili. I am a Samoan. I am in LS1 at Panmure Bridge School. I enjoy doing art, writing,
reading and inquiry. I love school and learning, because it helps me improve in learning, and it also

Activity 3: Miracle on the Hudson

Harriet Tubman did something brave and that was leading the slaves to freedom on the underground Railroads.



For this activtity we have to write down what someone or I did that was brave, and I picked Harriet Tubman because I think that was really brave of her to guide the slaves to freedom.

Activity 2: One Small Step for Man

When I first steped on the moon
it felt like I was steping on a giant ball
It was so big and I felt a little scared
But the moon was so beautiful.



For this activty we imagine that we steped on the moon. We had to write a poem of how it be like if you step on the moon.

Activity 2: Overcoming Adversity

I moved to New Zealand and this is my 4th year being here. I moved to New Zealand because I had eczema and I couldn't live in Samoa for a long time because it was to dusty over there. When I came to New Zealand I didn't know how to speak English. Now I can speak English properly and I am doing well in school.


For this Activtiy we had to write and recount of when, me or someone experience something and they over come it.

Activity 2: Influencers

If I had a chance to be a you tuber. First I will name my youtube channel Joanne Reaction. I would create reaction video. For exmaple: reacting to scary short films or reacting to funny videos.




For this activity we imagine that we got a chance to create our own youtube channel. First what would my channel be named, and what would it be about.
