Visual Language - Gruffalo's Child

Today in class we read a book call the Gruffalo's Child. We also used visual language. The new words I learn was symbols and layout.

layout - Is where the main character is standing or sitting.

Symbols - Is what happens when it is full moon.

Tapa Patterns

This term we made a tapa cloth. First we started by drawing some patterns on a hard piece of paper. Then we shaded our patterns with vivid. After that we dye some of the patterns brown and then we left it to dry. The last thing we did was scrunch up  the paper to create a fabric.

Read Theory - August

At the start of the year I was grade 1. Last month I was grade 4. My best result was grade 6. I am still grade 5. I need to try harder and get to level 6. I am improving in my read theory by reading the text properly and answering the question properly.

Visual Language - Voices in the park

Today in class we used a picture from a book. We also use visual language. Visual language means describing and communicate features of an image. I also learn some new words like setting and salience.
Salience - Is the first thing you saw.
Setting- Is where it takes place.

The Mind Lab Trip


Today we went to the Mind lab to learn how to build and explore things about the olden days.
Our first lesson was with Ms. Emma. We learnt how to build a torch. Our second lesson was with Ms. Kenza. We learnt how to build a car using battery pack and a propeller. After our lesson we went outside and explore things about the  the olden days. My favourite part was going in to the pump house because I never seen a pump house before.
