Print Design Rules - The Good and, the Bad and the Ugly

For this week activty we look at poster and which one is bad and good, we also write why is is bad and why it is good. We also write the composition, layout, colour and text.

Use this document to record your notes as you go around the different posters to identify the four
areas of print design. 
LI: to apply the four areas of print design.
  • Recall what each of the print design areas control.
  • Come up with a set of 2 rules each to follow:

    • Composition:
      • Have a balance of pictures and sentences 
      •  Use images that relate to the text
    • Layout:
      •  Have margins and align text and images
      •  Use most of the space
    • Colour: 
      • Don't use clashing colours, use a harmonic colour scheme
      •  Use contrasting background and foreground colour
    • Text: 
      • Keep consistent fonts and sizes
      •  Make sure the text is legible

  • The text is in the way of the title
  • The layout is all in the right place
  • The profile is near the picture, and the pictures are in the wrong place. Also the title that says about android is bigger than the text.

  • This one is good because it is all aligned. 
  • This one is bad because it is has different fonts
  • This one is good because it is aligned to the left properly
  • All the text is in a different spot.
