SSR Selfie
Today for SSR Selfie I chose to read A Bad Case of Stripe. Here are some things I wrote. I wrote the title of the book, and why I liked that book.

Today I did my Basic Facts Challenge, and I got 4m for my addition. I got a little bit faster at my addition.

A conversation is two or more people talking. Direct speech is what a person has said. A conversation
and direct speech both uses speech marks.
When writing a new conversation make sure to have a speech mark. After writing the conversation, maybe add in some punchuation marks like: ?!,. When finishing of the conversation make sure to have a speech mark at the end.
After write down who is talking at the end of the conversation. For Example: said Alfred, and shouted Peter.
When writing a conversation, each conversation has to have a new line, so that person can understand who is talking. Using really interesting and funny conversation can catch people attention.

Identifying Patterns
Identifying patterns is repeating the same design, and times table is adding numbers to get an answer.
The one times table pattern is that it addes by one. the nine times table patterns is that it increase by 9. Thats the pattern to all the other times table.
Patterns always go back to where the pattern has started. If the pattern doesn't go back to where it has started, then that means it is not a pattern.
Patterns is a useful strategy for learning the times table.

Prior Knowledge/Lali Drum
Prior knowledge is using somebody's knowledge about a topic before searching about more information about that topic.
Prior knowledge is on Lali drum, Lali drums is a type of drum that is hallowed, lali drum is made out of native hardwood tree.
Lali drum comes from Fiji, but other cultures use it too. Lali drum is use for announcing deaths, war and brith.

Identifying Direct and Reported Speech
There are two kinds of speeches, direct and reported speech. Direct speech is exactly what a person said, reported speech is telling what someone else has said.
Direct speech uses speech marks to show what a character is saying at the moment.

9 Times Table
L.I - to identify a fact family.
Today I did my 9 times table.
I took a photo of myself doing finger tricks for my 9 times table.
I wrote down my 9 times table and my devision, for example 9 devided by 9=1.
I found out that doing finger tricks with 9 time table was a easy way to know you 9 times table.
I liked doing the 9 times table it was a fun task to do.

First Waka Landing

Today for inquiry I took a photo of where the first waka landed, To know where the waka landed you need to look at a waka pretend Kurahaupo, Kurahaupo is yellow so that mean we have to look for the colour yellow and yellow only has one place the waka landed, which is Takapaukura ( Tom Bowling Bay) Here is the photo of the waka landing spaces. Marco Polo Marco Polo is an Italian, Venteian Merchant explorer that explored Burma, Asia and Indian with his family. Using my group visualising helped me finish my poster. Kwisport / Rippa Rugby
L.I - To Learn the basic skills of rippa rugby
Today we went for our 3th session of rippa rugby, this time our coach was MJ and Glory. Our first activty was learning how to past and catch the ball.
Then we played our second activty, for this activty we had to get in our team of black and red tag Then we learned how tab the ball and throw. The red team unfortunately won but I still had fun.

Kiwisport / Rippa Rugby
Yesterday we went to our second session of kiwisport. We still had the same coach Andrew and Justice. First we practised our passing and catching skills with a rugby ball, and this time I didn't drop the ball like last week.
Then we went on to playing rippa rugby and it was between boy and girls. The girls did good because we were working as a team and passing the ball to people who didn't have a turn. So it was fair and square. After a long day of running it was time to go back to school.

Explorers and adventurers are people who travel and discover new things.

Adventurers are people who travel to takr part in something for themseleves such as Sir Edmund Hilary, Moana, Ferdinand Magellan, and Amelia Earhart
Explorers and Adventurers need to have or show many different attitude and attribute such as Knowledgeable because explorers and adventurers need to know lots of stuff like if you can make it up the tallest mountain in the world
Both explorer and adventurer travel to new places and need similer qualities although their goals are different.

Kiwican/ Positive Communication
L.I - Positive Relatioship
Today at Kiwican we learned about positive communication. First we did an energizer, for the energizer we played a game, and for this game the teachers spilited us up into two groups and one group was in Miss Grace and the other was in Mr. Seamanu. First Mr. Seamanu or Miss Grace call out 2 people and the two people have to try and flip the cones, Mr. Seamanu group have to flip the cones right way, and Miss grace group had to flip the cones upside down.
After the energizer we talked a little bit about Positive Communication. After that we played a game called street fighter. For this acitvity the teacher will call out a number and we have to do the action for example the teacher calls out 1 and we have to punch 1 time and say "ha", and the last person to do the action is out.

Rippa Rugby/ KiwiSport
L.I - To Learn basics things about Rippa Rugby.
Yesterday LS1 and Room 5 went to the park to play rippa rudgby with the Marist team, and St Patricks school.
First the coach splited up the year 4, year 5 and year 6. Our coach was Andrew and Justice and they were both from Marist. After the team split up, each team went and did their own activty, our team
( the year 6 ) started off with a warm-up. For this warm-up the coach called out North or South or West or East. If they call out North we have to run to North and we have to be there by the count down to 5, and if we are not there by the count down by 5 then we are out.
After that Warm up we Practised catching and throwing. For this activty we had to get into lines and the first person in the line had to go and stand behind the red or green cones. Then we had to run up and throw the ball to the person next to us.
After that activity we went and put our tags on. Then we played this game called rabbits and rats, the red team was rats and the green team was rabbits. When the coach call out rabbit then the green team has to run as fast as they can to the green cones, and the red team has to try and rip the tag of the green team.
For our last activty we played rippa rugby. For this activty we had to work as a team and past the ball to try and get it to the goal. After the game the green team win! Here is a video of our rippa rugby.

Basic Facts
Today I played a game called basic facts. For this game we had to play the addition side a we also had to time ourselves while we are doing the addition side. I got 5minutes 9seconds. My goal is to beat my highest score. Here is my addition slide.

Where in the World?
L.I - To build geographic knowledge.
For the frist slide we had to research about Ohakune. Then we had to answer questions like what is the closest body of water to Ohakune. Then we moved on to the second slide it, for the second slide we had to research what is the closest country to New Zealand. Then we had to add how far is it from New Zealand. We also had to add what the local currnecy, and how much would I get if I had $100ND. After that I choose a distance, and minus 1000 using cm,mm,m. Here is my where in the world? template.

Idioms - Bug Eyed
L.I - To make a video using Idioms.
Today Wairaka, Fala and I did a video using idioms. Idioms means phrases that doesn't actually mean what they mean. For examples - Bug eye means with bulging eyes, as from astonish or amazement. It took long time to take the video because we kept on smiling, but we finally did it. Here is a video of our idioms.

Kwican - Giving Things a Go.
L.I - Giving things a go
This week for Kiwican we learnt about giving things a go for example, someone tells you to take out the rubbish even though it is dark, and you never took it out before so you were scared but you gave it a try. For the energizer we played grab the cone, for this activty we got into group of two then the teacher will say a key word for example, the key word is cone then the teacher tell a story and if they say a secret word we have to quickly get the cone, but if we don't get the cone then we go and sit down.
For the last activity we had to go a find another patner, both of the partner face back to back from eachother then the teacher tells us what to act, and who ever acts it well is the best actor. Then we played GKQ and it was between boys and girls, sadly boys won but it was a fun day.
